OUR PARENTS LEAD OUR CHILDREN TO THE GOSPEL AND THROUGH TRANSFORMATION. WE PROVIDE THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF A FAMILY WHICH IMPACTS THEIR DESTINY AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.

Children come to Covenant Homes of Hope in need. We provide guidance and give them hope by helping them discover their gifts, purpose, and value in Christ.

ARE YOU BEING CALLED?

This is absolutely a calling. We need houseparents called to full-time ministry. Houseparents serve in a full-time role, providing a healthy, Christ-centered home with the support of a like-minded community. We provide our houseparents the opportunity to parent the way they are led, within the framework of Covenant Homes of Hope’s core values and beliefs.

Each home is led by a godly husband and wife, operating as close as possible to ‘normal’. Children participate in school, extracurricular, and church-related activities. Our parents invest in the lives of their children so they can heal from past hurts and grow into their purpose.

There are many children suffering from abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Our purpose is to give as many children as possible the chance to overcome and transform into responsible and flourishing adults. If you are a follower of Christ and committed to be the change our children need —- let’s talk about joining our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL TRAITS OF A HOUSEPARENT COUPLE?

The houseparenting role at Covenant Homes of Hope is the foundation of our ministry and within the lives of our children. They are role models teaching our children what a mom and dad look like, and they invest core values into our children who will bring these to their future families. Our houseparents are couples who are lovers of Christ. They all have unique personalities, skills, careers and financial backgrounds, ages, and different walks of life. All our parents have in common a positive attitude, a teachable spirit and willingness to learn, patience, strong moral character, dedication, compassion, determination, and a strong desire to help hurting children.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR HOUSEPARENTS?

All houseparents are full-time Mom and Dad in their home. We place great emphasis on equipping parents for meaningful time in the home, while ensuring they have time for rest and rejuvenation. Our houseparent couples receive time off, one weekend every month from Friday to Sunday.

WHAT ARE THE LIVING ARRANGEMENTS?

6-8 children live in a two-story home, with a dedicated couple serving as mom and dad. Each child will have their own bedroom as well as a common safe room to ensure the promise of safety and long-suffering along the road to healing. Each home will have a houseparent suite which allows space to restore, relax, and spend quality time to support longevity.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MINISTRY OR WORKING WITH KIDS?

Our Houseparents come from various backgrounds and professions. Some come from completely unrelated fields. We are more interested in the heart of our incoming parents than their field of training. We look for houseparents with one mission in mind: To serve hurting kids with the heart of Christ.

HOW DO MEALS WORK?

Our homes have kitchens and dining rooms, as parents you would be responsible for providing meals for your kids just as you normally would.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

Houseparents help their children prepare for the day by ensuring they receive a nutritious breakfast, making sure they are ready for school and seeing them off for the day. During school hours, houseparents often go to staff meetings or training sessions. They make preparations for the home and have some “free time” to enjoy.

When the day is over houseparents coordinate getting children to their scheduled activities, prepare the home meal, help with their homework assignments, and mentor through household chores.

Weekend schedules are less structured, allowing families time to enjoy recreational activities such as local events, taking weekend trips, extracurricular activity events, or enjoying quiet time at home. Sundays, each of our families attends a church of their choosing.
