Our Vision and Preparation for the Future
CHH is taking strategic steps towards our future to nurture and transform the lives of troubled youth. We will acquire or build homes within farming communities throughout the United States. We will have the capacity to lodge animals such as swine, horses, chickens, cattle, and dogs. CHH envisions a farm with children of all backgrounds who are loved and flourishing. CHH children will be taught work ethics such as the responsibilities of caring for (the animals, farm, and land), discipline, teamwork, and having fun! We are also committed to helping them prepare for their future.
How
By creating an environment where children can discover, recognize the responsibility and purpose of their gifts and talents.
Value
Make each child understand how valuable they are, and their talents are gifts from God. Tell them their gifts are unique to them and God has a plan and purpose for their lives.
Discovery
Ask them what they love to do and talk to them about their favorite activities. Help them to discover an awareness concerning their gift. Watch them and notice their natural abilities. Encourage them with positive reinforcement. Increase their responsibility and difficulty (slightly) using their gift. Notice how they respond to unexpected challenges and how they find solutions. Assist them with working through it and moving forward. (if needed)
Growth – New Beginnings and New Opportunities
Look for new opportunities for children to expand their talents and strengths. Ask them to help with different projects for home or the community using their skills. Expose them to a targeted and variety of experiences such as art, sports, cooking, or music to help them find new opportunities to pursue and hone their gifts.
Mentor – Identify someone who has proven success in this area and can take them further. Make sure this person has integrity and explains mistakes, lessons-learned, and pitfalls of short-cuts.
Write the Vision and Make it Plain
Journal – Help them articulate their gifts appropriate for their age level and help them document their talents. Give each child a journal to describe their talents and why they love what they do. Give them the opening to describe how their gift makes them feel. Ask them to describe their dream job.
Vision Board – Provide vision boards for each child and necessary resources (magazines, markers, colored pencils and pens, markers, etc. Explain the components of a vision board is a collection of images or objects arranged in a specific order. Vision boards can be physical or digital. Communicate the purpose of a vision board is to help manifest their personal and professional goals. Tell them to envision their future selves when creating this board. Ask them to use words or phrases, create drawings, photographs, and use their individual creativity. This will help them identify patterns and themes, over time validating their gifts and direction.
CHH believes raising children within a farming environment is a proven path to help them discover and reach their destinies. We have begun the renovation process of our first home with this vision in mind. We envision our homes and farms as financially self-sufficient, productive, and debt-free.
Community Impact
CCH anticipates being a productive and vital member of its community. We value community and purpose to be a light that brings change and results in a forward progression.
